Even when retirement is something we are looking forward to, the idea of actually leaving the workforce can feel daunting. Many baby boomers are delaying retirement as a result.
Ensuring you have the financial means to support yourself is only one of the many factors to consider before picking a retirement date. Work meets many of our basic needs besides providing an income — a sense of identity and purpose, structure to our day, social connection, and affiliation, to name a few. Figuring out how those needs will be met once we retire is key to a successful transition.
Your Ideal Retirement Coaching can help! We offer retirement planning workshops that support your employees to gain the confidence they need to make a successful transition to a meaningful retirement.
Navigating a smooth transition from the workforce
Facilitated by a certified retirement coach and a financial advisor, this comprehensive workshop provides participants insights regarding their current level of readiness to retire and helps them to develop a plan to make the transition easier. Participants will:
learn what life factors impact a smooth transition to retirement;
understand what constitutes the right financial plan for their retirement goals;
identify what they need to focus on to achieve their version of the ideal retirement;
gain the confidence they need to make decisions about this next phase of their life.
I am so grateful that I attended your workshop. My husband and I are now scheduling meetings to explore just what our retirement will entail. We are looking at what we have saved and other monies we expect. I am thinking ahead to the scheduling of time with friends and classes at our seniors center, volunteer time, and time I will want to spend with my grandchildren, and discussions we will have with our daughter and son-in-law, before we move in together.
Your workshop was structured to generate thought and discussion that we all benefited from. Thank you for your own stories and knowledge that you shared.
In addition to supporting your long-term employees, your organization could realize benefits through:
Salary budget savings
Improved goodwill as you assist employees through this major life transition
Increased employee engagement and productivity
Opportunities for fresh and innovative ideas as new employees join your organization
Enhanced recruitment efforts as prospects view you as a caring employer

We contracted Kathy to deliver a half-day pre-retirement workshop for 25 of our employees who were preparing to retire in the next 1-3 years. Kathy received tremendous feedback from participants as her workshop focussed on an area of retirement they had not planned for yet– their psycho-social wellbeing. Previous retirement workshops only focussed on the financial aspect of retirement. Overall the session was very worthwhile to participants and it supported the organization’s goal to aid our long-term employees to make a successful and rewarding transition into the next chapter of their lives. - Provincial Government Organization
